    Re: Tightening up your Vott's

Yeah, at the time I wrote the above I had a name I couldn't quite grasp and with my 'library' locked away in a damaged HD, best I could do was put it out there and let folks correct me. Hill Craft did a lot of the 'bread and butter' cabs and at this point assuming it was Barzilay that just did the higher end cabs, customs that we see periodically on ebay. Then again, maybe Altec spread the 'wealth' around to keep it from looking like despotism as I know of at least one pair of curved plastic grilled Valencias made by Barzilay. Still were crap for sonics [for my 'tastes], but made beautiful looking living room additions in the large, open format, Scandinavian decor home they went to.

    Welcome to the hostboard!

I'm sure someone here has the file saved.

There are some other good threads here about 825/828 cabs and how to improve them. From bracing and insulation, to changing the port size.

They are easily found if you search the web for the following:

The Small ?Classic? ? Voice of the T h e a t er? by Jim Dickinson

Large Voice of theater systems by Jim Dickinson, Theater consultant

I tried to attach the files but it seems to exceed my limit of 1MB of attachements.

Note that these articles were for prosound apps, so for HIFI/HT it's just a beginning...........

Semi-related site I wasn't aware of: Altec A7 Voice Of Theatre Speakers
